Her design for living is pretty much summed up by the Morecambe & Wise song ‘Bring Me Sunshine’.
Because I am a Girl I ask… that no woman ever waste her vote. It was hard-enough won.
Because I am a Girl I believe… that ‘having it all’ is a lie. ‘It’ is subjective; only you can decide what ‘it’ means.
Because I am a Girl I hope… I would have been brave enough to be a Suffragette.
Because I am a Girl I wonder… if future generations will look back bemused at our archaic, unequal world.
Because I am a Girl I dream… all the time.
Because I am a Girl I remember… life before skinny jeans.
Because I am a Girl I like… the restorative power of make-up, but I know it’s only skin deep.
Because I am a Girl I dislike… the destructive influence of WAG culture.
Because I am a Girl I feel… lucky that I was born in a country that has clean drinking water.
Because I am a Girl I… don’t want my children’s generation to rule a world where babies are still dying from preventable diseases.
